This policy applies to the PathSnap Android app. It explains what information the app accesses and how that information is handled.

Short versionPathSnap stores all of your data locally on your device. It does not upload, transmit, or share your images or personal information with any server or third party.

Information we do not collect

PathSnap does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on a server. In particular, the app does not:

Create or maintain an online account.
Upload images, sessions, patients, or annotations anywhere.
Send analytics, crash reports, or advertising identifiers to any party.
Connect to any network to process or store content.

Permissions the app uses

Camera — used to capture microscope and specimen images through the front or rear camera. Images are captured only when you take a photo.
Storage — used to save captured images, annotations, and exported reports, and to let you share them through your device's share sheet.

These permissions are used solely to provide the app's capture, annotation, and export features. No captured content is transmitted off the device.

How your data is stored

Sessions, patients, sample types, images, annotations, and the activity log are stored locally on your device. Deleting the app, its data, or clearing its storage removes this content. Exporting an image as PDF, PNG, or JPG sends the file through the standard share sheet of your Android device; any app you choose to share it with (messaging, email, cloud drive, and so on) applies its own privacy policy.

Intended use

PathSnap is a diagnostic aid intended for qualified healthcare professionals. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice or diagnosis, and it is not a medical device for diagnosis. Do not transmit patient-identifying information through any channel without proper authorization and consent, and follow the standard operating procedures applicable to your practice.

Children's privacy

PathSnap is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect any data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. When we do, the updated policy will replace this page.
